We proudly announce the opening of three grand new wings on the unspeakable gothic pile that is www.gwendavies.com. At least I hope it’s a gothic pile. If it turns out to be a bird of some kind it’s going to be fucked with three new wings.

Anyways and anyhoo, the new additions, just in time for the festive melee, would be jewellery, jewellery and more jewellery. Yes, you lucky web-monkeys, for your perusal today, all three types of jewellery, namely hippie necklaces, groovy bracelets and er, eerie earrings. Who could ask for more?

Yes, I know it looks shit if you view it on Internet Explorer on a really old monitor, but it’s going to have to stay that way, at least until my eyes stop bleeding. At least we are now Mac friendly. Bloody Macs.

Nothing for ages then two posts in the same day. I think I must have been tired after photographing the amazing Amorphous Androgynous a few weeks ago.

The new congruency

Sat down with Gwen last night and thrashed out a slightly new look for the web site. We’ve tried to make the menu easier to read, changed the font sizes, removed some of the clutter and ditched the hated teal text and borders in favour of a more tasteful shade of purple. Gwen says the site needed to be more congruent. I think this is something she’s picked up from Mary Queen of Shops. Anyway.

Ta da. Feedback anyone? I particularly like to hear when it doesn’t display properly in someone’s browser. Gives me hours of fun that does.

As you can see, not much has happened in my meaningless life for the last month. Or has it?

Encounters at the End of the World

Herzog has a new film, Encounters at the End of the World, which takes as its subject matter the scientists and explorers who inhabit McMurdo Station in Antarctica.

Looking forward to this one, as apparently it is partly a continuation of his amazing 2005 film Wild Blue Yonder. Playing at Chapter at the end of May. Also not sure what a penguin death march entails. I’m sure it’s something cute and fluffy. Anyway, here is some linkage…

Occasional drinking buddies and fellow rock trivia game afficionados Thyrd Eye contacted me this week week touting for their forthcoming gig at the Barfly. If I can stump up the cash I will try to make it, but supporting a Joy Division tribute act? Firstly, I thought New Order already had that covered and secondly, dude… you guys should be headlining Glastonbury.

I’m genuinely bowled over by the quality of this stuff.
